Why Should I Join A Small Group?
1. It helps you understand the Bible better.
If you’ve ever listened to a message and you wanted to stop the Pastor and ask him a question... or if you wanted him to expand on the topic, then you need to be in a Small Group. This is where there is two-way communication, where you can ask questions and have discussions about God’s Word.
“for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true”. Acts 17:11 (NIV)
2. You feel more like a part of God’s family.
One of the greatest benefits of being in a Small Group is the friendships and relationships that are developed. People need the Lord and people need people and they need to form godly friendships – that’s fellowship.
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20 (NKJV)
3. Prayer becomes more meaningful to you.
This is where you will develop your prayer life. This is where people pray for others and you’ll see God answer the prayers of His people. You can learn to pray for others and pray in a group when you are ready.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” - Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)
4. It helps in handling the stress & pressures of Life.
Small Groups is where you’ll find the necessary support in times of trials and crisis. You’ll have a feeling of stability as others are there for you in your time of need. Your best friends are those friends who have Christ in common.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.” - Ecclesiastes 4:9, 10 (NIV
5. You’ll learn to share Christ with others.
As you grow, you’ll grow in your ability to share what Christ has done for you. A Small Group is also a place where you can invite a non-believing friend who might not go to church.
“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” - 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)
6. You’ll discover your gifts and talents.
The Bible teaches that each and every one of us have skills, gifts and talents that God has given us. Many people discover them in a Small Group environment as other point out their qualities and characteristics. You’ll acquire boldness to use them in your Small Group setting.

7. It will deepen your understanding of God and worship.
Many people think they can only worship God on Sunday, but the fact is that anything you do that focuses on God is worship. Small Groups is also a place where we can take the Lord’s Supper.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge. . . receive my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold; for wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her”. Proverbs 1:7; Proverbs 8:10, 11 (NKJV)
8. You’ll be a New Testament Christian
Throughout the New Testament, we see Scripture about how the Believer’s met in the homes. God never intended that you learn everything from a Pastor. God wants us to meet together.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Every day, they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts. . .praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. . .” Acts 2:42, 44, 46, 47 (NIV)
